THREE PICKLEBALL KINGDOMS: REVISION IMPLEMENTATION RECORD
Version 1.1.0 | 12 October 2026

Sources inspected
Uploaded application ZIP, aicommy1_pickleball_db.sql, and the complete written
Three_Pickleball_Kingdoms_AI_Implementation_Spec.docx including its tables.
Existing controllers, routes, model schema, scoring service, views, assets,
AI package, dependency lock and tests were inspected before changes.
No illustrative screenshot scores or names were used as tournament data.

Architecture retained
Laravel 13.31.0 and bundled production vendor directory; PHP 8.3 target;
AdminLTE 4.0.0; Bootstrap 5.3.8; InnoDB transactions; existing JSON snapshot;
existing self-hosted Ollama integration. No new UI, icon or chart library.
Control Room and Public View remain separate interfaces.

Requirement trace
01 Four Control Room stage buttons; search and status filters retained.
02 Exactly the three stored Stage 1 fixtures save in one outer transaction.
Invalid third results roll back earlier writes, version increments and audits.
Correction reasons enforced in the scoring service, not just the controller.
Removed winning-point checkbox and required serve confirmation.
03 AJAX round save retains selected filters and navigates by scrolling to the
first unfinished round; all-complete scrolls to Stage 1 end. Failure retains
inputs and displays the existing validation error. Browser check pending.
04 Five pair records per faculty save atomically. Foreign pair IDs rejected.
Existing master CRUD, faculty settings and pair deletion restrictions retained.
05 Rollback moved to its own sidebar page between rules and audit history.
06 Fourth scope resets Stage 1 results and tie decisions, removes downstream
stages, and derives zero KP/records. Original Stage 1 IDs/slots, roster,
configuration, accounts and audit history remain. Later stages regenerate
   through the existing rank/representative-selection workflow.
07 Public-only 1920x1080 composition scaled to the available viewport with
no page scrolling; Control Room remains responsive. Real layout check pending.
08 Ten rounds in a two-column/five-row grid and fifteen pair records. Actual
persisted schedule, scores and KP. Navy panels and B red/D yellow/C blue.
09 Manual Public stage buttons and local browser persistence. No auto-switch.
10 Latest three completed results ordered by updated_at, then ID for timestamp
ties. Same-transaction saves share a timestamp; ID gives deterministic order.
Compact bottom strip selected by user. No empty waiting placeholders.
11 Point Plunder uses existing seven fixtures and +1/-1 rules unchanged.
12 CSS bracket displays actual selected representatives and individual game
scores. Champion comes from persisted series wins; no trophy graphics.
Semifinal-winning faculty still selects its final representative through the
existing explicit final-generation workflow. No automatic pair selection.
13 One public polling mechanism every ten seconds, no full-page reload,
retained stage, offline retry and last-successful data. Snapshot reads lock
the tournament row so data cannot mix a round before/after commit.
14 Display labels use first word + first word, or original code if either name
is missing. Measured overflow shortens EACH name to three Unicode characters.
Full registered names and IDs remain unchanged. Real font-fit check pending.

Open layout choices resolved in this task
Latest-three results: compact bottom strip.
All Stages: internally scrollable combined centre panel within the fixed TV shell.

Configuration conflict and safe resolution
The live database has completed Stage 3 scores to 15, target3=15 and best_of=3.
The supplied specification instead requires Stage 3 to 11, best_of=3.
Existing results and legacy configuration are preserved on installation.
A dedicated audited rule action applies target3=11/best_of=3 ONLY when no
Stage 3 fixtures exist. The operator can retain completed history, or explicitly
roll back Stage 3 and apply the new rules before regenerating it.
New Stage 3 generation rejects an incompatible target/best-of configuration.
Fresh installations seed finals to 11/best-of-three; earlier targets stay as
stored. No live match history is silently converted or erased.

Additional repairs
Removed the excluded unsaved-change browser warning inherited from the source.
Recheck active role/state on every protected request so disabled accounts cannot
continue scoring with an already authenticated session.
Removed embedded seed password from production code. A new empty database
requires INITIAL_ADMIN_PASSWORD; existing accounts are unaffected.
Removed live environment, sessions, cache content and logs from the release.
Examples require a unique key/token rather than shipping usable shared secrets.
Restored individual Undo controls alongside new batch forms without nested forms.

Approach comparison
Incremental revision vs rewrite: retained incremental revision to preserve data,
IDs, score rules, existing authorisation and corrections.
Polling vs WebSockets: JSON polling uses the existing endpoint and shared-host
infrastructure, avoiding a persistent websocket server on cPanel.
Combined page scrolling vs panel scrolling: selected internal panel scrolling
preserves the fixed TV shell and still exposes all stored fixtures.
Per-match submission vs round transaction: round transaction prevents partial
Stage 1 updates while preserving per-match validation and audits.
Automatic configuration conversion vs explicit rule adoption: explicit adoption
protects completed legacy results and provides a clear audited replay boundary.

Verification evidence
REVISION_PHPUNIT_RESULTS.txt: 47 tests, 163 assertions on SQLite / PHP 8.3.6.
REVISION_MYSQL_TESTS.txt: same suite on MariaDB 10.11.14 / PHP 8.3.6.
REVISION_MYSQL_IMPORT.txt: supplied dump imported and update applied twice,
with original games, pairs, faculties and users compared row for row.
REVISION_JAVASCRIPT_TESTS.json: 16 checks of rendering/state/name/refresh logic
with a simulated DOM. This is not a browser layout or device test.
All application/controller/service/route PHP files linted. Blade rendered in
HTTP feature tests. The JS assets pass Node syntax checks.
The optional AI was tested with mocked success and failure responses; no live
model service was supplied or tested.

Remaining validation
Chromium could not create required OS sockets in this execution environment.
Full 1920x1080 rendering, text-fit measurements, AJAX focus/scroll, fullscreen,
actual TV refresh, network recovery, print layout and Android/iOS/tablet testing
must be checked in staging using README Step 13. Exact PHP 8.3.0 and the actual
production MySQL 8.0.37/cPanel server were not executed here.
No live deployment was performed. No production data was modified.
This build is ready for deployment review and staging verification, not an
unqualified certificate of 100% production functionality.

Research
53 official digital references retained; 51 retrieved successfully in this
revision. See RESEARCH_REVIEW.json for URLs and specific design uses. Two
retrieval failures are explicitly recorded and not counted as verified.
